Contest Canada is a cross-platform Flutter application that brings Canada's leading contest discovery platform to mobile devices. Users can browse hundreds of sweepstakes, search and filter contests, save favorites locally, receive instant notifications when new contests are published, and open contests directly from marketing links through deep linking. Firebase powers notifications, analytics, crash reporting, and remote configuration, ensuring a reliable production-ready experience.

The Problem
The application needed to efficiently display large contest catalogs, support offline favorites, provide reliable push notifications across all app lifecycle states, handle backend API migrations without requiring app store releases, and seamlessly connect marketing campaigns to native screens through deep linking.

Our Approach
Built a production-ready Flutter mobile application that allows users to discover Canadian contests, search and filter by category or province, save favorites offline, receive real-time push notifications, and seamlessly access contests through deep links while integrating with a flexible backend powered by Firebase services.
Architecture
System Design
The Flutter mobile application retrieves contest data from a custom REST backend through Dio while Firebase Remote Config dynamically manages API endpoints. ContestBloc merges remote contest data with locally stored favorites and read states from SQLite. Firebase Cloud Messaging delivers notifications, Awesome Notifications displays alerts, Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics monitor production usage, and AdMob provides in-app monetization.
